What Is a Dental Bridge?

In this video, lab technician John Barnes explains what a dental bridge is, how it works, and how it helps restore both function and appearance when a tooth is missing.

A dental bridge is used to replace a missing tooth. It’s made up of three teeth: the two natural teeth on either side are reshaped to hold crowns, and the middle section, called a pontic, fills in the gap where the missing tooth was. You can clean around a bridge using floss or a water flosser, and it restores both function and appearance by replacing the missing tooth.
