What Is a Mini Dental Implant?

In this video, Dr. Robert Ellis shares why his office became a Mini Dental Implant Center, the history of mini implants, and why he now focuses almost exclusively on them for patient care.

We became a Mini Dental Implant Center about three years ago after being reintroduced to mini implants. Interestingly, I first learned about mini implants around the same time I was introduced to traditional implants. In fact, one of my very first cases was placing four mini implants for my mother to stabilize her lower denture.

Traditional implants are two-piece systems, while mini implants are smaller in diameter and designed as a single piece. The one-piece mini implant has actually been around for about 40 years. It’s a simple, reliable, and highly effective design.

Since becoming a Mini Dental Implant Center, we’ve focused almost exclusively on mini implants because of their proven success and the benefits they provide for our patients.
