What If I Have a Hard Time Getting Numb at the Dentist?
In this video, Dr. Robert Ellis explains how his office improves dental anesthesia so patients get numb faster, stay comfortable longer, and experience less pain during injections.
Every so often, we see patients who have trouble getting numb. To help with that, we add sodium bicarbonate to the anesthetic. This makes the numbing medication more effective, helps it work faster, reduces the sting of the injection, and even makes it last longer. Patients tolerate it very well.
We also use a more advanced anesthetic than the standard lidocaine that many dentists still rely on. While it costs a little more, we believe it’s worth it to give our patients the best, most comfortable experience possible.
