A dental implant is a replacement for a missing tooth. It’s a small post, usually made of titanium, that comes in different lengths and diameters depending on your needs. Titanium is unique because it’s the only metal we know of that naturally bonds with bone (a process called osseointegration).

If integration doesn’t occur, the implant won’t succeed. But when it does, the implant becomes a strong, permanent foundation for a crown, bridge, or denture.
