How Do I Care for Implant-Supported Denture?

In this video, Dr. Robert Ellis explains how to properly clean different types of implant-supported dentures and bridges to keep them healthy and functioning well.

If you have a removable implant-supported denture, take it out daily and use a soft toothbrush to clean the underside of the denture, the housings, and the O-rings. Also brush the top of each implant. The implants should stay a bright silver color. If they look dull, that usually means there’s a thin layer of buildup, which is easily removed with brushing.

If you have a semi-fixed denture that you don’t remove, use a water flosser to rinse between the denture and your gums.

For a fixed roundhouse bridge, we also recommend a high-quality water flosser. Direct the water stream between the bridge and the gums to keep the area clean.

If you ever notice something stuck under your denture or bridge that you can’t remove at home, schedule a visit. We’d be happy to clean it for you.
